• Low water pressure at one faucet — Mineral scale from KC's hard water builds up in aerators and cartridges over time, restricting flow. Often fixable by cleaning or replacing the aerator — a quick and inexpensive fix.
• Handles that are hard to turn or loose — Worn internals, mineral buildup, or loose packing nuts cause handle problems. Ignoring a stiff handle often leads to a stripped cartridge that requires a bigger repair.

Bathroom Faucet Repair and Replacement

Bathroom sink faucets are typically ball, cartridge, or ceramic disc types. Cartridge faucets are the most common in KC homes built in the last 30 years and are generally straightforward to repair. Single-handle bathroom faucets that drip at the spout usually need a cartridge replacement. Two-handle faucets that drip are typically worn washers or O-rings in the valve stems.

Tub and Shower Faucet Repair

Tub and shower faucets are more involved than sink faucets because they're built into the wall. A shower faucet that drips or won't balance temperature correctly typically needs a cartridge replacement. In older Kansas City homes with original fixtures, cartridges for obsolete faucet brands can be hard to source — which sometimes makes full valve replacement the more practical solution.
